What is bottle flaming?

Bottle flaming treatment
Bottle flaming is an in-line surface treatment for caps, bottles, and lids to ensure that labels will not peel off before the label comes to the end of its lifespan. This treatment is used for bottle materials that are “chemically inert” and won’t bond with glue. Solving label adhesion issues can involve changing the adhesive, changing the label application technique, changing the container material, or reducing line speeds. Some of these options, however, can be difficult to change which is why packagers frequently turn to the in-line surface treatment of flaming. The flaming process essentially removes the residual inert chemicals and improves label adhesion.
